Behind every great man is a
woman. This adage is perfectly true of Françoise Sbarro.
Françoise Cuendet met Franco Sbarro in Yverdon, Switzerland, when
he was just starting to build his first prototypes. In other
words, Françoise was always there throughout Franco's career.
Without going into their private lives, it's fair to say that
Franco Sbarro always placed great importance on his wife and
children. His passion for cars and design could have made him
"lose his head". Françoise helped him keep his feet on the ground
and step back. This didn't stop her from supporting him in his
work, whether anecdotally by posing for promotional photographs,
helping to fit out the ACA and Espace Sbarro premises, or taking
care of administrative tasks.
Without Françoise, there would be no Franco.

Proof that Françoise Sbarro is indeed present in
Franco Sbarro's work: the students of the 1992-1993
graduating class inscribed their names, those of their
teachers and Franco Sbarro, and that of Françoise, under the
hood of the Isatis
(photograph by Dingo for Option Auto).
