Sbarro Alfa Romeo Torpedo - 1986

Atiny photograph in Fabian Sbarro's book "Franco Sbarro / Concept cars" with the only caption "Alfa Romeo Torpedo. Transformation. 1986". It's the only trace I've found of this car.

The mystery car

The only real certainty about this car is that it exists: the source is reliable, namely Sbarro's own son, Fabian Sbarro.

Looking at the various Alfa Romeo models in the mid-80s, perhaps the torpedo could be based on a GTV, Alfa Romeo's sports coupe. But that's just a guess on my part.

The design of the Alfa Romeo Torpedo was taken from the 1990 Citroën BX Evasion that Sbarro presented at Geneva. No doors, no soft top, two seats and a rear air intake. Is the engine in the back? I doubt it, but I don't know! The car is clearly not intended for everyday use.

If you have any information about this mysterious Sbarro Alfa Romeo Torpedo, please let me know.
In brief
1- An Alfa Romeo transformed into a two-seater roadster, without door or soft top
2- The design was taken over by Sbarro in 1990 on a Citroën BX
3- I need help to find out more!
