C4 R-PUR

In 2005, Franco Sbarro and Citroën collaborated on two projects: the Citroën C2-V6 and the C4 R-PUR presented here. Based on the C4 coupé launched by Citroën a few months earlier, this unique model offers a new system of discoverability, while retaining the car's original lines.

The convertible roof is ingenious and does not detract from the lines of the Citroën C4 coupé (Espera photograph).

Ingenious roof

The roof, manufactured by Saint Gobain Vetrotex, consists of three segments. It slides along a rail and then fits into the trunk. Modular as desired, this system is innovative in its extreme simplicity and ease of use. The trunk retains 90% of its original volume.

The car is fitted with magnificent 19-inch diameter OZ wheels (Espera photograph).

A little comestic

Although the concept of discoverability is paramount, the Espera students couldn't resist embellishing the car a little by fitting some beautiful 19" diameter OZ Palladio wheels. The car is transformed. At the rear, the exhaust tailpipe is worthy of the prototypes this C4 rubbed shoulders with at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show.

For sale

The Citroën C4 R-PUR sat for a while in the reserves of Citroën Héritage. Put up for sale by Leclere at the December 10, 2017 sale, it went for €12320.
