Moto modulable

On February 28, 2020, Franco Sbarro's plans changed when it was announced that the Geneva Motor Show would be cancelled due to the health crisis and lockdown. For the first time in 47 years, he would not be exhibiting vehicles in Geneva. That didn't stop him from continuing to work, and he even told the Vaud newspaper La Région that he had never worked as hard as he did during the two months of confinement. The fruit of this work is the presentation of a modular electric motorcycle.

No name but plenty of ideas

Franco Sbarro's bike doesn't really have a name: Sbarro describes it as a modular motorcycle. It's an electric two-wheeler, with the motor hidden in the front wheel. Franco Sbarro is exploring this solution, which involves integrating the motor into the wheel to save space in the vehicle, as in the 2017 Pendo-Traction.

Orbital wheel

Another big comeback is the orbital wheel. The famous hubless wheel, which made a big impression, has the peculiarity of being empty at its center. Hence the idea of providing storage space for a helmet. A second helmet can be placed at the rear of the handlebars, where the now useless fuel tank traditionally sits. Two small wheels can be lowered to allow the rider to remain on the bike when stationary, without putting a foot down.

To the best of my knowledge, only the Vaud newspaper La Région has reported on Franco Sbarro's modular motorcycle. I could only find these two photographs by Michel Duperrex, taken in Grandson, on the premises of Franco Sbarro's ACA.
