C3 Pluriel V6

Once again, Citroën has asked Franco Sbarro to transform one of its vehicles. In this case, a C3 Pluriel, the convertible version of the small C3.

V6 engine

The Citroën C3 Pluriel is a car I've always found hard to understand. A car that's neither a sedan, nor a convertible, nor a pick-up, but a bit of all of the above at the same time! What's more, the practicality of the Citroën convertible is totally absent. For example, you have to remove the roof bars to get a real convertible. But where do you put them? There's no provision for storing them on the car. So leave them in the garage and hope it doesn't rain!

With this in mind, placing a V6 engine in such an ambiguous car becomes just another curiosity. That's what Sbarro has done: by slightly extending the front end, the PSA-sourced 210 hp V6 engine is positioned transversely in front.

The modifications

The roof is now made of orange glass, lending a warm ambience to the cabin, which borrows its black and orange seats from a Citroën C2 VTR. The bodywork has been completely revised, of course, as the front end has been lengthened. The treatment is relatively classic, with fender flares and new front and rear fascias. Of particular note is the original treatment of the wing above the headlights.

The 210 hp V6 engine fills out the C3's elongated front end.

The C3 Pluriel V6 represents a small feat of engineering: fitting a V6 engine into a small body is a fine feat in itself, and always remains a highly coveted object. The bodywork treatment is superb, even if some criticize its tuning aspect. After the C3 Profil-R, Sbarro has completed its tour of the C3 range with this outstanding Pluriel V6.
