Taïpan
The desert taipan is one of the world's most venomous snakes, found in the deserts of Australia. This is the name chosen by Espera Montbéliard students from the class of 2023-2024 for their first creation. A stunning buggy powered by a Ford V6 engine.
Buggy
This isn't the first time Espera Montbéliard has offered a buggy: in 2016 there was the Arcad' powered by a Cadillac V8 or, even further back, the Gecko in 2009. These latter prototypes were open vehicles. Here, the buggy has a roof, but no doors or windows, so it's safer to wear a helmet.
Compact
Seen from the side, the Taïpan is compact.
The styling is muscular and aggressive. The polyester bodywork
is very open at the sides and rear. The matte dark green color
is magnificent. The wheels are fitted with BF Goodrich Radial
T/A tires, a high-sidewall tire described by the manufacturer
as vintage and designed for muscle cars. Not really cut out
for off-roading. These tires have already been used on the Restart hot-rod
in 2020.
V6 engine
The Taïpan is powered by a V-type six-cylinder engine, from a Ford Cougar, positioned in a central transverse position. No power figures have been released. The presence of a clutch pedal suggests that the Taïpan is equipped with a manual gearbox. What stands out most is the exhaust silencer that marks the rear. The space usually occupied by the rear window is completely taken up by two large fans, rather like on the Arcad'.
